Police Officer Recruit

Lateral Police Officer
We’re looking for outstanding certified Officers who are currently employed and have at least two years of continuous service with their current agency. Lateral candidates participate in an abbreviated academy.
Police Cadet (18-21 yr. olds)
Feel drawn to a career as a Police Officer but not yet 21? The Police Cadet Program is a fantastic alternative. Open to those 18 and older, Cadets handle non-enforcement activities while receiving law enforcement training.
Police Explorer (14-21 yr. olds)
The Police Explorer Post is designed to prepare anyone between the ages of 14 and 21 to become police officers through education, training, and experience. Individuals belonging to the Explorer Post are encouraged to transition to the Knoxville Police Department Cadet Program at 18 years of age.
Regular meetings are held every Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Meetings consist of administrative updates, scheduling upcoming events, and training.
